Christian Rock OBSESSION |
A blog featuring album reviews, news updates, and a whole lot more about today's popular Christian rock and pop artists. |
Here’s the behind the scenes video I just finished for House Of Heroes. They are working on a new album and it’s sounding pretty awesome! I always look forward to an album from these dude. Hope you dig it!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This week is just full of awesomeness, if you ask me. Turkey day tomorrow, a ton of sweet deals the next day, and officially being able to listen to Christmas music without upsetting people for “starting too early.” And to top it off, here’s an update.

Speaking of Christmas music, Deas Vail will be releasing a four-song Christmas EP titled For Shepherds & Kings on November 29 (next Tuesday). The EP includes the songs “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Coventry Carol,” and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” I’m no expert, but I’m thinking they’ll do an awesome job with this. Also, don’t forget to check out dates for their Christmas tour, which you can find here.

Onto a totally different note, Demon Hunter has announced the release of a deluxe edition of The World Is A Thorn, due out on the same day as Deas Vail’s EP. It will have one cover song and four acoustic tracks, in addition to the rest of the record. Hopefully those songs are on iTunes so we all don’t have to buy the album over again, yeah?

For all of you Owl City fans out there, pre-orders for Live From LA begin November 29th as well. You can pre-order it on iTunes and have it for when it releases digitally the week after, on December 6th. If you want to wait for a hard copy, set your eyes on February 7th. It’ll also be on Blu-Ray, if anyone’s interested! You can watch the trailer by clicking here.

Last (but definitely not least), Five Iron Frenzy has made a pretty big announcement. They’re back together!!! And to make things even better, their new album is more than 200% funded, according to Kickstarter. That is unbelievable. For more info, click here.

That’s all for now! Enjoy your turkey!
THIS.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, all of you. I know it’s not as impressive as some blogs, but I am so unbelievably proud to call each and every one of you my follower. Thank you for every like, every reblog, and for sharing in my obsession over these past three years or so. You guys deserve a cake.
August Burns Red- “Empires”
A year ago today, we released a free album. Please have it and share it. http://www.showbread.net/main.html #Showbread #WhoCanKnowIt? (Taken with instagram)
Happy 11/11/11 everybody! Hopefully all of your wishes came true today. Right now I’m chilling with my new pet dinosaur and am about to go for a ride in my new hovercraft. But before I do that, here’s an update.
If you haven’t yet heard, Matt MacDonald of The Classic Crime is going to be a dad very, very soon! With this, however, came the question of how to afford another mouth to feed. The answer? An EP MacDonald recorded with his wife under the name Vocal Few. The EP is called She’ll Be Right, and “the proceeds will go to buy diapers and pay for baby checkups and all the weird things babies need and she won’t starve or die because this EP will ensure, in part, that She’ll Be Right!” To pre-order the EP and show your support, you can go here.
As some of you may know, Showbread is currently on tour in Europe. From the looks of their recent tweets, they could really use some prayer. Also, if you want to help them out over there, you can buy their first ever remix album. I, for one, am very intrigued to hear what a Showbread remix will sound like. Sounds like it’ll be raw.
Lastly, if you “like” Run Kid Run on Facebook, you can download an acoustic version of their new song, “Someway Somehow” for free! The new album drops this Tuesday, and from what I’ve been hearing, it’s great. I. Can’t. Wait.
That’s all for now! Hopefully the world doesn’t implode from the awesomeness of 11:11 tonight on 11/11/11. Blows my mind.
Switchfoot- “Restless”
Also, check out this sweet interview between Jon Foreman and Stephen Christian of Anberlin here. They talk about some really interesting things that I bet even some of their biggest fans did not know about.
Search the City has confirmed… they are getting back together. WHAT!?
Here are just a few quick updates. Enjoy!

Children 18:3 announced recently on their Twitter that record number three is in the works as of this winter. The band goes into the studio this December to record. I am beyond excited for this.

New to Tooth & Nail, Blessed By A Broken Heart is releasing a song for free from their upcoming debut, Feel The Power. The song is called “Deathwish,” and it sounds like a mix of hardcore music and classic rock (?). You’re going to have to see for yourself.

Speaking of free music, Wavorly is also giving away a free track. It’s from their new EP (set to release 11-11-11), and you can download it here. Just click on the triangles when you arrive on the page, and your download will begin immediately.

They have made a very limited number of vinyl copies of their new Christmas track, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” available for purchase, which you can buy here. The song will be out on November 15th, so keep a look out for it! Love the artwork!
