Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This week is just full of awesomeness, if you ask me. Turkey day tomorrow, a ton of sweet deals the next day, and officially being able to listen to Christmas music without upsetting people for “starting too early.” And to top it off, here’s an update.

Speaking of Christmas music, Deas Vail will be releasing a four-song Christmas EP titled For Shepherds & Kings on November 29 (next Tuesday). The EP includes the songs “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Coventry Carol,” and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” I’m no expert, but I’m thinking they’ll do an awesome job with this. Also, don’t forget to check out dates for their Christmas tour, which you can find here.

Onto a totally different note, Demon Hunter has announced the release of a deluxe edition of The World Is A Thorn, due out on the same day as Deas Vail’s EP. It will have one cover song and four acoustic tracks, in addition to the rest of the record. Hopefully those songs are on iTunes so we all don’t have to buy the album over again, yeah?

For all of you Owl City fans out there, pre-orders for Live From LA begin November 29th as well. You can pre-order it on iTunes and have it for when it releases digitally the week after, on December 6th. If you want to wait for a hard copy, set your eyes on February 7th. It’ll also be on Blu-Ray, if anyone’s interested! You can watch the trailer by clicking here.

Last (but definitely not least), Five Iron Frenzy has made a pretty big announcement. They’re back together!!! And to make things even better, their new album is more than 200% funded, according to Kickstarter. That is unbelievable. For more info, click here.

That’s all for now! Enjoy your turkey!

In return for “liking” Write This Down on Facebook, they’re giving away a free song of theirs. It’s an acoustic version of “Alarm The Alarm” from their debut (which, by the way, is most definitely worth checking out). It sounds pretty awesome, to be honest. I love how a band like Write This Down can be heavy most of the time and still put out an amazing acoustic song like this. Sick.
If you’re a fan of The Rocket Summer, you’re going to want to download that free album of his that he just released.
… What? You haven’t heard about this?? It’s on his website! The album is live, acoustic, and 100% free! What are you waiting for!?! Click the image above to see what’s up.
Hey everybody! It’s been some time since I’ve been able to write an update, so there are a few things that have happened recently that are worth mentioning. Here goes…
A new Blindside song was found online recently, called “My Heart Escapes.” It is the second song to be put online from their new album, With Shivering Hearts We Wait. Both can be listened to by clicking here. To listen to the first one, “There Must Be Something In The Water,” just click the “back” arrow to the left side of the page. They’re both pretty good! The new album drops worldwide on June 7th.
If you haven’t heard yet, Owl City’s newest album, All Things Bright And Beautiful, was pushed back to June 14. Bummer. Still can’t wait, though!
Now, this one kind of surprised me. Family Force 5 posted a video of themselves playing an acoustic version of a song called “You Got It.” It’s one of the new songs featured on FF5’s new album, due out sometime this year. It sound a whole lot different from anything they’ve ever done so… I’m interested again. I told myself I wouldn’t be, that me and FF5 were through, but… I don’t know. Gonna have to see what they do with this new sound. Keep on the lookout for more news regarding that album.
Oh, Sleeper has just wrapped up recording their new album, so you can expect it this summer. STOKED, that’s what I am!
Also, be on the lookout for a new Emery review to come soon! It’s taken me a little longer than I would’ve liked, but I think I have all my thoughts in order now. Expect it within the next few days. Untill then…
