Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This week is just full of awesomeness, if you ask me. Turkey day tomorrow, a ton of sweet deals the next day, and officially being able to listen to Christmas music without upsetting people for “starting too early.” And to top it off, here’s an update.

Speaking of Christmas music, Deas Vail will be releasing a four-song Christmas EP titled For Shepherds & Kings on November 29 (next Tuesday). The EP includes the songs “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Coventry Carol,” and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” I’m no expert, but I’m thinking they’ll do an awesome job with this. Also, don’t forget to check out dates for their Christmas tour, which you can find here.

Onto a totally different note, Demon Hunter has announced the release of a deluxe edition of The World Is A Thorn, due out on the same day as Deas Vail’s EP. It will have one cover song and four acoustic tracks, in addition to the rest of the record. Hopefully those songs are on iTunes so we all don’t have to buy the album over again, yeah?

For all of you Owl City fans out there, pre-orders for Live From LA begin November 29th as well. You can pre-order it on iTunes and have it for when it releases digitally the week after, on December 6th. If you want to wait for a hard copy, set your eyes on February 7th. It’ll also be on Blu-Ray, if anyone’s interested! You can watch the trailer by clicking here.

Last (but definitely not least), Five Iron Frenzy has made a pretty big announcement. They’re back together!!! And to make things even better, their new album is more than 200% funded, according to Kickstarter. That is unbelievable. For more info, click here.

Here are just a few quick updates. Enjoy!

Children 18:3 announced recently on their Twitter that record number three is in the works as of this winter. The band goes into the studio this December to record. I am beyond excited for this.

New to Tooth & Nail, Blessed By A Broken Heart is releasing a song for free from their upcoming debut, Feel The Power. The song is called “Deathwish,” and it sounds like a mix of hardcore music and classic rock (?). You’re going to have to see for yourself.

Speaking of free music, Wavorly is also giving away a free track. It’s from their new EP (set to release 11-11-11), and you can download it here. Just click on the triangles when you arrive on the page, and your download will begin immediately.

As with every year, August Burns Red is releasing yet another Christmas single for the holiday season. They have made a very limited number of vinyl copies of their new Christmas track, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” available for purchase, which you can buy here. The song will be out on November 15th, so keep a look out for it! Love the artwork!

That’s all for now! Check back soon everybody!
Merry Christmas everybody! Hope you’re having a good one!
Hello! Here’s another quick update with some very cool stuff thrown in…
This far into the Christmas season, I was beginning to wonder if August Burns Red was going to put out a new Christmas song. They have for the past two years now, and it appears this year is no exception. You can head over to their Myspace now to hear the full track. It’s their very own rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy” and it owns. It’s also available one iTunes if you’re looking to buy it.
Flyleaf released their Remember To Live EP yesterday. I didn’t know too much about it until I read this, so I figured I’d fill you in as well. Here’s what they said:
It’s a bunch of old songs that you guys have asked us to record for years, so we finally did it. There are a few new songs you may have never heard and old ones reborn that Passerby fans will remember.
For those of you who don’t know, Flyleaf was formerly known as Passerby before they were signed to Octone Records. It sounds interesting, definitely worth a listen.
Lastly, Switchfoot is including their Eastern Hymns for Western Shores EP in their 2010 Christmas Deluxe Package. They put together a package like this every year, and they’re always too expensive for me. This year… $59.95. Unless someone wants to buy it for me as a Christmas gift, I don’t know if I’d be willing to part with that much money for a few snazzy Switchfoot items. But the exclusive EP will make it worth it for most die-hard fans, seeing how you can get it nowhere else. It’s a collection of older songs that have never been released, so it should be interesting to hear. If you can afford it/wait till it’s on YouTube. Ha. You can buy the whole thing here.
Merry Christmas everybody!

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying this Christmas season—I know I am! Here’s a quick look at everything that’s been going on in the world of Christian rock lately:
Right now you can listen to the first song to be released from Aaron Gillespie’s solo worship project, Anthem Song. It’s called “We Were Made For You,” and it is really well done. You can link up to it here.
I Am Empire—a band recently signed by Tooth & Nail—is gearing to release their T&N debut, Kings, January 25th. You can listen to a few of the band’s newer songs (as well as some of the older ones) on their Myspace. If, by chance, you really like what you hear and want to pre-order the album, you can do so by clicking here. The bundle includes a nice t-shirt and a physical copy of the CD for a fairly good price.
This Tuesday, Flyleaf will be releasing Remember To Live EP. It will have seven songs on it, a few of which are currently streaming on their Myspace.
And lastly, I am compiling my list of favorite albums from this year. So I’m curious… what was your favorite album to be released in 2010?
House of Heroes- “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”
Yeah. Christmas time is here.
